While surfing across the internets the other day I came across a Special Report on the New Scientist website entitled "How our economy is killing the Earth" accompanying this article was the scariest chart on Global Warming I had ever seen.
This chart was a compilation of all the atrocities man has done to the earth since the founding of this country. Things like the dreaded Paper Use, Water Consumption, and Fisheries Exploited whatever that means. And all these graphs are shooting up on the right side of the chart like rockets, especially after 1950 (those blasted 50's).

But then on closer inspection I realized two things, there are no numbers on the sides of the chart, just the years on the bottom and that the years end at 2000.
Not having the numbers on the sides, means that all these graph lines are meaningless. For all we know Ozone Depletion went from 50% in 1950 to 51% in 2000. And what about the Ozone Layer before 1950? All this chart is, is a scare tactic for the uneducated.
The reason the chart stops at 2000 is a lot of these graphs started heading south. The Northern Hemisphere temperature has been tracking down for the last few years. And why do they only show the Northern Hemisphere what about the Southern Hemisphere, isn't it supposed to be GLOBAL Warming?
There is another graph that is heading in a downward direction that is not on this chart and that is the amount of people who still believe in global warming. In the U.S. that number is down to 18% from a high of 50% in 2000. Now that is something to chart about!
